Summer of Barry – A Movie Under The Stars

Our local community hosts these Outdoor Movie Nights at various venues/parks around the area.  Last night we watched Raiders of the Lost Ark at Hope Lodge.  It was a perfect night.  Popcorn was tasty, movie was a classic and the temperature was in the low 70’s.  The stars were shining over head too.

Jenny enjoyed it too.  She’s been wanting to do this for some time now but being a Super Hero is very time-consuming and exhausting.  It was a nice break for her.  So far, the Summer of Barry has been excellent!

An Ordinary Day with Jeff the Clone

Everyone thinks my life is wildly exciting.  Yes I’m a former Storm-trooper from the future, and yes I’m a clone with mad skills.  My life is not all glamour and parties though.  Like yesterday, yesterday I ran errands.

So my day started with a little work.  These are star charts.  TJ and Tourist Dave thought they were Jackson Pollack paintings.  Um…no.  I tried to explain Space to them but they broke out in song and dance.  I gave up.

I got in the car.  The Roomie drove and we went to Target.

I targeted in on the soda we were picking up because of the awesome price.

I pointed out that perhaps it was time to fill up on petrol.  I’m a former soldier we do what needs to get done.

Then back home and I read a book.  So ended my ordinary day….Clone Style!

Bjorn’s Flash Back

I’ve been looking at old pictures of some of my adventures.  I thought I’d share some of my favorites.

The trip to South Carolina was part of our pilgrimage to Orlando, Florida.  We stopped in every state on the way.

Savannah, Georgia was also part of that pilgrimage.   I loved this very old city.  It had southern charm and so much history.  There is a raw beauty about Savannah.  Sometimes it’s hard to describe. If you can, I recommend a visit to the port community.  It’s known for its Art School, Spanish Moss and incredible historic homes with exquisite iron work.

Baltimore, Maryland has a beautiful Inner Harbor.  So many activities to keep you busy all day.  They also have many delicious venues to get food.  The National Aquarium was a lot of fun too.  It’s on the way to Washington, D.C. so if you are going that way check it out on the way.

This picture was taken at Fort Mifflin, Philadelphia, PA.  This site was a particular favorite of The Roomie.  She loves anything 1700’s which Philadelphia has in spades.  She even loved that it rained that day.  Lack of crowds offers more adventure time and one gets to really experience the site.  I was digging the cannons…loud but very cool.

Cleveland, Ohio is the home to Rock ‘N’ Roll.  They Museum offers many things.  From Michael Jackson’s glove to Elvis’ motorcycle.  Cleveland is also known for it’s Art Museums and our favorite…The Christmas Story House.  The Roomie enjoyed Lakeside Cemetery.  She’s all about Cemeteries too.  She was digging the Cemeteries in Savannah too 😉

I’m not sure where my next adventure will be but I know it will be a good one.

The Summer of Barry – Christmas In July

We decided to do the Christmas in July theme this summer.

First we went to Byers Choice in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

It was so much fun.  They served cookies and peppermint ice cream.

They had all kinds of displays, not just Christmas, although that was the theme.

Barry got to see some other former Presidents.  He wonders what he will look like as a doll (lol).

On Sunday, we decided to continue the adventure of Christmas in July.  We went to the National Christmas Center in Paradise, Pennsylvania (near Lancaster).

So much fun.  The exhibits took me way back in time.

There were exhibits celebrating Christmas in many different Countries.

Also, Christmas Trees abound here.

I got to do some “shopping” at Woolworth’s.  It was a really fun time.  Christmas In July was something new for us and it was bunches of fun!
