We went to Lou’s Market Place so The Roomie could get her Jersey Tomatoes.
We all enjoyed our visit here. Tasty watermelon and when we went to leave a happy message to follow us.
Have a Nice Day 🙂
Saturdays in Autumn are for Craft Fairing. This past Saturday was the mother lode of CF days. We had multiples and one of those was at St. Katharine Drexel Shrine. I had never been to the Shrine and neither had the Roomie so we thought this was a win/win. The Campus is closing in January and the body of St. Katharine is being moved to somewhere in Philadelphia from the Bensalem, PA campus. St. Katharine lived here for many years before her death and it was the Mother House for her order.
The Chapel is magnificent. It reminded me a lot of the churches in Britain. It kind of made me feel like I was back home again.
St. Katharine was an amazing woman who grew up wealthy and gave it all up to take care of her fellow human beings. Her focus was to enable the Native American and African-American women and children a chance at a better life through education and endowment. She founded colleges and schools and helped to provide medical help when needed to the poorest among us. She used the money left to her by her parents ($15 million) to fuel her endeavors.
It made me sad that this beautiful campus has been sold. Luckily her vision is still being upheld by her Order. We were just glad we got to see all of this and to kneel and pray to her before she is moved. Well the Roomie did that while I took selfies in the chapel.
I personally like the Park CF’s. I get to play in the forest!!
Saturdays in the Fall are all about Craft Fairs. That magical place where you go to find homemade items for yourself or your home.
At least this is what the Roomie says.
It was fun. The Roomie only got some homemade treats for the puppies but we did get to see Santa Claus, so that was cool.
Oh and some little kid wanted to take Heat Miser home. Said she loved him…we all don’t understand that because he’s the grumpiest of us all, lol.
We decided to do the Christmas in July theme this summer.
First we went to Byers Choice in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
It was so much fun. They served cookies and peppermint ice cream.
They had all kinds of displays, not just Christmas, although that was the theme.
Barry got to see some other former Presidents. He wonders what he will look like as a doll (lol).
On Sunday, we decided to continue the adventure of Christmas in July. We went to the National Christmas Center in Paradise, Pennsylvania (near Lancaster).
So much fun. The exhibits took me way back in time.
There were exhibits celebrating Christmas in many different Countries.
Also, Christmas Trees abound here.
I got to do some “shopping” at Woolworth’s. It was a really fun time. Christmas In July was something new for us and it was bunches of fun!
