The Roomie likes to read. I like to read. We are symbiotic. We share many of the same traits. I’m not a joiner or usually social. Reading is great because I gain insight and knowledge about a specific or multitudes of topics. The best part I don’t have to talk with anyone 🙂
We are currently reading the same book. My Life In France by Julia Child. It’s not easy sharing a book. Luckily she goes to work and I get to hang out and read or do other fun stuff like play Star Trek. This is easy for me because I live with some of the characters of Star Trek. So yay me!
The Roomie is very much into Julia Child and cooking shows in general. Like so many things we are both enjoying this book very much. I keep asking why she’s not cooking something for us all and she says, ‘I’m not a real chef’. I think she should try playing “Chef” and see how it goes, Bazinga!
A Nor’Easter came to Our Town yesterday. Her name was Stella and she was messy and heavy. She made snow not fun 😦
Buddy and the Roomie were ecstatic that our new Neighbor snow blew our front walkway. Thumbs up from the big guy!
Shelly and Lenny were a little bummed that the snow was so wet and heavy that sledding was a bummer. They tried to build a snowman but it was like rolling the snow through quick-drying cement :(**
Stella could have been worse. We ended up with about 4″ with drifted snow which turned to ice when as the day got colder. This morning we woke up to 19 degrees with real-feel temps of 9 degrees. This with Spring just days away. Weird, right?
I have this new friend named Shelly. You’ve seen him on this blog. Lately, we’ve been spending some time hanging out together and I’ve found he’s a really nice kid. We like some of the same things and for a young sport he’s not quirky when it comes to hanging out with an Elf who was raised a Gnome.
I made him a new cloak to wear during the really cold moments. I don’t really get that cold. It’s probably because I spent most of my life in the Garden so cold and snow don’t faze me at all.
We got an ice storm last night and it sure was pretty.
I’m showing my new friend how I enjoy the outdoors all year round. Even when the weather isn’t so pleasant. I think he sees what I see…Beauty!
