It Might Be Autumn…or Summer

We went outside.  I’m not sure why because it was 85 degrees.  It’s been more like July than October recently.

Johnny and Elliott got to spend some time in the Cornfield.  It was much like visiting work on your day off.

Brody and Melvin are enjoying October and the Farm even if it is like summer.

Elmer wanted to know where the maze and cider were?  It wasn’t that kind of farm today.  Maybe this weekend!

Autumn Is Close At Hand

Hey Brody…pull my finger…HA HA HA!

Don’t you just feel bad for me right now?

The trees are starting to turn.  We are all excited that Fall begins on Friday!!!  We love October…you know because we are all Halloweenish.  It’s going to be so much fun.  The Roomie said we can start Halloween decorating in October!

We can’t wait!  Especially Melvin!

A Walk In The Woods

Yesterday the temps were in the 60’s.  Weird for January but after that last polar vortex (Yes, I know this sounds pretentious) it was nice to go outside without bundling up.  I loath it when my face hurts.

The day was rather gray but who cares when you don’t even have to wear a coat.  I got to do some painting and some thinking.

Looking down the empty road made me think of that Robert Frost poem The Road Not Taken.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Gosh I love that poem.

Mr. Nigel Murray Moved in Two Days Ago!

So we have a new friend in the group.  His name is Mr. Nigel Murray and  he is an English Troll.

He is fitting in very nicely at the house even though he is naked all of the time.  Hey, it’s how he rolls in the forest.

IMG_5312 (300x400)

Bantley took him to Morris Arboretum.  It’s a local place we all like to go for some fresh air and natural beauty.

IMG_5309 (300x400)

These two get along really well.  Bantley gets along with most people and creatures.  He doesn’t smile much but he’s always in good spirits 🙂

It’s almost Milkweed Pod Explosion season.  You know what that means?  Millions of wishes will be flying around just waiting to be made.  It’s the Roomie’s favorite time of year!  Mr. Nigel Murray seem skeptical but Bantley assured him after that first wish it’s addicting!

Until our next adventure!

April Showers Brings…Flooding

Early this morning we were all awoken by the sound of a torrential downpour of rain.  It was still dark and very miserable outside.  All a part of Spring.

IMG_0924 (400x300)

This afternoon Mick and I went down the Crick to see what it looked like all swollen.

IMG_0937 (400x300)

Yes it is weird to say Crick when it is a Creek but when in Roman…yada, yada, yada.

IMG_0935 (400x300)

It finally stopped raining and the “CRICK” looked kind of cool.  It also made me glad that I gave up living in the Forest.  It’s wet and mossy here.

IMG_0938 (400x300)

The trees are starting to bloom which is a good sign that Shady Days are coming closer and closer.

IMG_0928 (400x300)

The Roomie loves the rain.  Probably because she’s never had to live outside after a rain.  It’s damp.  ‘Nuff said!

Homie In The Woods

I’ve lived so much of my life outside so today was just like old home week…or old Homie week, lol.

IMG_1987 (400x300)

I met this young man who was doing yoga and stopped for a chat.

IMG_2006 (300x400)

I love nature.

IMG_2016 (400x300)

I haven’t scaled a tree stump in ages.

IMG_2018 (300x400)

I’ve still got it tough!

IMG_2011 (300x400)

Jasper and Tanta told me about this spot.  It sure is a good place to see the sights!

IMG_2022 (400x300)

It was such a lovely day.  Here’s to what is shaping up to be a lovely weekend!  Cheers Friends and I hope you get to enjoy some outdoor activities too!

Jasper and Tanta Go To The Park

IMG_1430 (400x300)

Sometimes when it’s a beautiful day I like to go to the park.  Today was just one of those days.

IMG_1450 (400x300)

We had some lunch and breathed in the crisp end of summer air.

IMG_1466 (400x300)

Even Bambi was enjoying this gorgeous day!

IMG_1456 (400x300)

I got to climb some trees and I found a caterpillar which was kind of scary and fuzzy all at the same time!

IMG_1448 (400x300)

I wish everyday was like today but with more time to enjoy every last bit of it.

IMG_1463 (400x300)

I can’t wait to come back again.  This is Jasper Jinx and I’m your roving elfin on the scene!

Hanging with Dwayne

There was a big storm that passed through our little town and WOW did it rain.  The lightening was cool 😉  Since I had to power down my computer to wait out the storm and since Dwayne doesn’t to jack around the office we decided to go all VOGUE.

Dwayne you're blocking my shot!
Because it's all about MEEEEE!!!!
How about them Phillies beating Cleveland today?
No really...Peanut Butter is good for your hair...seriously
tut tut it looks like rain
A little Gaga makes the rain less rainy

And this is how Dwayne and I spent our S.H.I.T.  (Shit Honey Its Thursday) 😉

Gonna Be A Rock Star…maybe?

I like to pretend I have musicality.  The key word is pretend.  I’ve found I’m more a car singer than an actual singer.  I love to play the guitar but I can’t actually say I’m playing a recognizable song.  Mostly I’m just jumping up and down doing my best Pete Townsend.

Look out Rock Star type!

You’d have to admit that I have the look of a rock star.  If Keith Richards was a Troll I’m confident we would look like twins!  But then again if I was a smart human I’d look like Albert Einstein not that it has anything to do with being a Rock Star.  Oh look cookies…

Wait…where was I…oh yeah…Me as a Rock Star.  I’m thinking American Idol as my first foray in to the land of musical giants.  how many tone-deaf, guitar playing with thumbs trolls do they have try out for that show.  Right…I’m a shoe in!!!

Oh Ellen…I’m ready for my close up!

My First Election Day

So you know how I’m Norwegian and all?  Good.  I’ve never celebrated an election day ever so when the Roomie was going to vote I was all…can I go too.

It was pouring down rain which didn’t bother me at all and the Roomie seemed kind of indifferent to it all.  The weirdo likes long walks in the rain, WTH?  Anyway, the voting place wasn’t what I expected at all.  She voted in a Barn…A BARN!  That’s country living yo’s!

This is a place of voting...and other stuff

But there were cool stuff too like a little park that I wanted to go play on but the Roomie was all…IT’s RAINING!!!  So I didn’t get to play but I did have my picture taken and stuff.

Check out this Slide!

I did swinging…
And then I saw the sign 😦

Age Discrimination y'all!

Over all my first voting experience was pretty good.

p.s. Flyers ROCK!!!
