Willow, Princess of Cathcart has wondered why she has never been featured on the blog. So in time for Easter I have given her her due. I present, HRH, Willow, Princess of Cathcart.
Oh, and Happy Easter from Bjorn, The Norwegian Explorer 🙂
This weekend we all went to the Mercer Museum and Henry Chapman Mercer’s home Fontill Castle.
So much history in two amazing locations.
The Museum itself houses thousands of items that represent the trades of the by-gone era. The Tanner’s tools, Coaches/Toll Roads and they even have a Gallows on the top floor in the Crime and Punishment exhibit.
Fonthill Castle was the home built and designed by Henry Mercer for himself. It showcases his tile and stone collections from round the world. There are many oddities and tiles that depict stories like those of Charles Dickens and the travels of Columbus.
His home at the time was a Castle but with Modern conveniences like central heating, bell systems and electricity.
A really neat please to explore.
How else does one celebrate the last day of Summer but with a nice swim on a 70 degree day, lol.
No, we didn’t go in the cement pond but the Humans did and we were just in awe. They said the water was warm and as long as you stay in the water it was fine.
Edgar just looked for some comfy spots to nap.
He remarked the view was lovely no matter where he was sitting.
We had a new arrival at the door yesterday. His name is Edgar and he is a Nisse/Tomte. He is from Norway just like Bjorn. Bjorn was super excited for someone from the homeland coming to stay with us.
He’s already had some adventures. Last night he went to dinner with Caleb and The Roomie.
They both thought the dinner was super fun.
The Roomie confirmed it was a great meal!
He arrived in this box. He later told Chipper that being out of the box was way better. Chipper told him not to get excited about traveling in style because most of the time they travel in a back pack, lol.
Edgar seemed to enjoy his first day with us 🙂
